We are thrilled to announce that Women In Distress has received a generous grant of $5,000 from the Florida Panthers Foundation! This grant is a significant step towards supporting our crucial mission: to build better mental health and resilience in children exposed to domestic violence abuse.
As the only nationally accredited, state-certified DV center in Broward County, Women In Distress’ Family Services program offers a range of developmentally age-appropriate services. These services are designed to help children reduce the impact of exposure to domestic abuse and build resilience.
With the funding provided by the Florida Panthers Foundation, we can ensure that our Family Services program continues to provide the necessary activities and supplies to support these brave children on their journey to better mental health and resilience.

We are thrilled to share the incredible impact of our partnership with Holman. Holman has not only been a financial contributor but has also gone above and beyond by actively participating in various events and donation drives, demonstrating a commitment to making a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence.
Holman’s support extends beyond financial contributions. Their dedication was evident during their “Days of Caring,” where on October 18, 2023, the Holman Community came together in a powerful display of generosity. They assembled an impressive 100 welcome duffels filled with essential items to benefit the women and children residing in Women In Distress’ 136-bed emergency shelter.
Holman not only generously provided the duffle bags but also engaged their employees in volunteering to assemble these welcome home bags. This thoughtful gesture goes a long way in providing comfort and essential items to those who need it most, creating a tangible impact on the lives of survivors during their stay in the emergency shelter.
