Volunteer Donation Pick-up Driver

Location: The Volunteer Donation Pick-up Driver works primarily from the central administrative offices of Women In Distress located in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Job duties will also include driving to multiple Broward County locations to aid in donation pickup.
Compensation:Volunteer position, but mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle use is offered.

Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Development, Events & Annual Fund, the Volunteer Donation Pick-up Driver assists in an “on-call” basis, collecting items donated by community supporters. Generally, these donations consist of clothing, food, and other supplies. Sometimes, pick up of larger items such as furniture may be necessary, but not frequently.

Days/Hours

Flexible between hours of 8:30-5:30 M-F

Qualifications/Skills

  • Must be an enthusiastic and positive representative for Women In Distress while picking up donated items.
  • Must be capable of lifting and transporting donated items. These items range from clothing to furniture.
  • Must be passionate about supporting Women In Distress’ mission to end domestic violence and abuse for everyone through education, intervention, and advocacy.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe/Acceptable driving history. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 70 lbs.

Additional Notes

  • In order to drive Women In Distress vehicles (box truck/pickup truck/van), the Volunteer Donation Pick-up Driver will have to meet any requirements of the insurance carrier. Background check, drug test, etc.
