Chief Program Officer

Location: Jim and Jan Moran Family Center, Deerfield Beach, FL. Position requires light travel within the county from time to time.
Compensation:$110,000 - $125,000 (based on experience)

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading and managing the comprehensive programming at Women in Distress. The CPO will oversee a number of staff including several directors of the program team, and will also be responsible for strategically reviewing the current set of programs and offering input into the changing needs of the agency. Oversee daily program needs and leads the quality assurance and program evaluations.

Days/Hours

Full Time: Monday-Friday 9a.m.-6p.m. with flexibility as needed to meet the needs of the department and the agency. All employees of Women in Distress are considered “essential” and as such may be required to be available to remain onsite and/or required to assist during emergencies and other critical times.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Superior project/time management skills - including planning/prioritizing, analysis, attention to detail, and advanced problem diagnosis and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proactive, energetic, self-motivated, solution-oriented team player and able to meet deadlines with the ability to balance multiple tasks with accuracy to details. Must be reliable, flexible, and can work in partnership with other team members.
  • Possess a motivated, “self-starter” personality, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Work well under pressure and with a variety of people.
  • Skilled in using databases, including creating queries and reports.
  • Advanced computer database and Microsoft Office software skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate an understanding of program leadership and builds a strong foundation with a commitment to quality programming. The CPO in partnership with the CEO and the executive team, contributes to the overall planning and strategic leadership of Women in Distress. Will promote collaborative relationships between direct service departments and other departments across the agency. The CPO will implement and lead a continuous quality improvement process throughout the program and service areas: focusing on systems and process improvement, program outcomes, and program evaluation.
  • Will oversee and provide guidance and direction to the Directors of Residential, Outreach, Housing and Community Engagement departments.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the Crisis Hotline Manager to ensure compliance with funder requirements and that trauma-informed direct services is being provided to survivors of domestic violence as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong community partnerships that will maximize agency programs within the community.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of grant funders reporting processes.

Additional Notes

  • Employee will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
