Outreach Advocate (Bilingual preferred)

Location: Women In Distress’ Family Center and Satellite locations throughout Broward County as needed.
Compensation:$19 per hour

Position Summary

The Outreach Advocate is responsible to provide case management, including completing registration with Women In Distress participants, provide follow-up appointments as necessary, provide individual counseling, conduct support groups, create and consistently review safety plans with participants, and offer community resources to participants as needed. The Outreach Advocate will provide advocacy services to all WID participants, including residential, outreach and/or WID satellite locations. In addition, the Outreach Advocate ensures that all services provided are empowerment based and are consistent with the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV) standards.

Days/Hours

40hrs/week; Monday, 12N–9p; Tuesday–Friday, 9a-6p; days and hours may vary as agency needs change.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service field with personal or work (social service) experience in domestic violence preferred, High School diploma or equivalent with experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, safe driving record, proof of automobile liability insurance.

Additional Notes

  • Employee will be required to take the Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence (FCADV) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
