Position Summary
WID is seeking a Residential Family Advocate who is professional, has experience working with children, and truly demonstrates a passion for the organization’s mission. The Residential Family Advocate will provide comprehensive case management and advocacy services to child survivors of domestic violence and their parent/caregiver. The Family Advocate will create and implement family enrichment events and activities to engage and support the children and their families. The Residential Family Advocate will ensure that all services provided are empowerment-based and are consistent with Department of Children and Family (DCF) standards.
Days/Hours
Monday through Friday 11:00 am – 8:00 pm
Qualifications/Skills

Degree and/or Professional Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field, preferred.

Bilingual Spanish, preferred

Experience working with children.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Ability to work with spreadsheets.

Valid Florida driver’s license. Safe driving record. Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance. Ability to comfortably drive a 15-passenger van, required
Essential Job Functions

Utilizing and empowerment model, provide trauma-informed direct services to child survivors of domestic violence and their families. This includes individual support, child/family advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, referrals, counseling and support groups.

Provide enriching and engaging programming for children and their caregivers including creating weekly Family Enrichment Activities, Children's Support Groups, and Parenting Support Groups. Build positive relationships with the children. Promote positive, nurturing interactions between parents/caregivers and their children.

Maintain up-to-date and accurate client's service file and client database including appropriate documentation of all individual services, referrals, and financial assistance provided. Ensure releases of information are up to date and detailed. Participate in peer file reviews to ensure quality assurance of files. Meet position's quality assurance standards.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned, based on organizational needs.

Employee will be required to take the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Core Competency training and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher.
